The lifetime membership award was abolished by vote of the membership on December 1, 2010.

Minimum age for membership
Single Memberships are restricted to those 19 years of age or older and Couple Memberships include families where at least one member must be 19 years of age or older. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian when attending an event.

Qualification for membership
In order to become a member of Club Tread an individual must attend 3 outdoor events before his or her name is submitted for executive approval as a new member.
Members in good standing of other hiking clubs similar to Club Tread have the option of attending 3 events in Club Tread before becoming a member but are not required to attend 3 events to become a member if they are recommended by a Club Tread member who is in good standing.

Mileage rate
Mileage rates will be adjusted as the price of gas changes on the following scale. Below $1.00 per liter the rate will be $0.05/km, then up to $1.19 it will be $0.06/km and thereafter an increase of $.01 at each $0.20 increment in gas prices.

On behalf of the membership, and where appropriate, the Club Tread Executive may respond to issues that impact members' interests in the use and conservation of public lands and waters.

The schedule will include the words "Trip Coordinators are strictly volunteers and there is no requirement that they possess any skills such as first aid, survival, etc.".
